Mighty oaks from acorns grow

Juniors

Hello and welcome to our junior's page!

Here you will find useful information about the day to day running of our class, including timetables, homework, and information about topics or any activities of note for this term.

We pride ourselves on our Growth Mindsets, and are always willing to give our best to any challenge. We understand that mistakes are an important part of learning and welcome feedback that helps us to grow! We hope that you can support us in our learning this term.

P.E

P.E will take place on Monday and Thursdays.

On these days, learners can wear their P.E kit to school. Please ensure sensible footwear is worn, e.g. trainers, and that clothing is appropriate for physical movement.

We aim to get outside as much as possible, so please consider bringing a hat if we are lucky enough for some hot weather, and a light jacket for chillier days!

Reading

Reading is an area we’re really focusing on this year, and we’d love to work in partnership with parents and guardians to support learners in developing a lifelong love of reading. Pupils will be taking their reading books home from today, and we encourage reading to be a regular part of your routine—little and often is best, and it doesn’t need to feel like a chore. If your child reads at home, please date and sign their reading record to let us know. There’s no need to write additional comments unless you’d like to!

Pupils will be reminded to take their reading books home each day, but it’s essential that they bring them back the following morning so we can listen to them read in school and change their books frequently. If you're interested, I’ll be holding an after-school session later this term for parents and guardians who would like ideas and strategies to support reading at home.

Class Dojo

I will be posting updates, reminders, and photos to Class Dojo, so please ensure notifications are turned on so that you don’t miss out on any important information. Please feel free to message me at any time, however, please note that I will not receive any messages outside of normal school hours so if you need an urgent reply, please contact the school directly.
