Class 2

Welcome to our Autumn term newsletter!

I hope you all had a lovely summer break.  I’d like to welcome all the pupils back to class 2 for the Autumn Term.

I’d like to welcome Rhys McKimmie to Class 2 this year.  Myself, Rhian Davies, will be supported by Mrs Clare Soady-Jackson and Mrs Nicola Eedy.

Our theme this term is Wriggle and Crawl which has a Science focus.  We are going to be learning about mini beasts and their habitats.  I hope the children will enjoy our class wormery and bug hotel!!  We will continue to work on the pupils labelling skills, focusing on the different features of mini beasts.  This will be alongside Halloween, Fireworks and Christmas focussed tasks.

We have a very exciting term planned, with visits to the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Pembrey woods.

Just a few notes for you.

This term we will be shopping on a Monday afternoon.  I would be most grateful if you could send in a shopping list (1 to 3 items) accompanied with money in a wallet and a shopping bag for anything you may need purchased for the home.  I would like to encourage the children to continue to look for healthy food to coincide with our schools healthy eating policy so would be very grateful if their list could include one item of fruit/veg.

If you could send in a PE kit every Monday and we will send it home on a Friday.  Our PE sessions will be on a Wednesday afternoon up until October half term.  In addition, this term we will have ‘Swansea City AFC Community Trusts Inclusion programme’ running on Tuesday afternoons, commencing after the October half term, where the children will be learning football and Tennis skills.

We will continue to access rebound throughout the school week, so the P.E kit may also be used then.

School P.E kit includes: T-shirt, jogging bottoms/ leggings, and suitable shoes if trainers are not worn daily.
