Welcome to our Autumn term newsletter!

I hope you all had a lovely Summer!

I would like to welcome all the children back to ATF 1. It’s lovely to see them and how much they have grown up, they have all settled back into the school routine really well.

This term the children will be supported by Mrs Melanie Harding, Miss Heather Small, Mr Jake Parsons, Miss Jessica Vickery, Mrs Keenan and myself Miss Nicola Lewis as Class teacher.

Our theme for the term is ‘mini beasts’. We have a very exciting term planned, with trip to the Botanical Gardens, walks around Pembrey woods, visits to the park for some natural environment teaching as well as a visit to see Santa towards the end of term, so lots to fit in.

This term we will be continuing with our shopping but on a bi-weekly basis alternating with a café visit every other week where we will visit different cafes to help the children with visiting new places.

This year we continue to have Speech and language on a bi-weekly basis which will be supported Mrs Danielle Elias. Danielle re-joined us in the spring term following her maternity leave and is really looking forward to working with the children again.

Just a few notes for you.

This term we will be shopping / having a café visit on a Tuesday Morning. Again I would be most grateful if you could send in a shopping list (1 to 3 items) accompanied with money in a wallet and a shopping bag for anything you may need purchased for the home or a treat. I would like to encourage the children to continue to look for healthy food to coincide with our schools healthy eating policy so would be very grateful if their list could include one item of fruit/veg.

Our P.E lesson will be on a Thursday during this term so if you could send in a PE kit every Monday and we will send it home on a Friday. We will also continue to access Rebound Therapy throughout the school week, so the P.E kit may also be used then. We are continuing to develop the children’s ability to dress themselves, so this is an ideal session to do this.

P.E kit includes: T-shirt, jogging bottoms/ leggings, and suitable shoes if trainers are not worn on a daily basis.

We have been lucky enough to secure our a half term of football and tennis lesson which will be provided by qualified coaches following half term more details will follow later in the term.

As we will be taking part in lots of outdoor activities please could you ensure that your child brings an appropriate coat with a hood / hat to school every day as we do go outside in all sorts of weather! We may also require wellies when we go on our walks in the woods, if you wish to send these in to be kept in school please feel free.

I would just like to remind you that all calls are now transferred down to us via the main school number. So please ring (01554) 773962 should you have any queries, or please feel free to email me
